“This moment we have now, let us not hurry When our time comes, we shall not tarry” — Omar Khayyam, excerpt from Rubáiyát The Philharmonic Chamber Choir (TPCC) delves deep into various Asian cultures to bring you a mélange of musical flavours, intricately woven to mesmerize your mind. Join us as we mark TPCC’s 20-year journey of choral performances with The Bird Of Time - Asian a cappella: a celebration of contemporary a cappella repertoire from some of Asia’s most well-known composers. Be drawn into the sights and sounds of a Korean marketplace with Memilmuk Saryeo (메밀묵 사려) by Lee Geonyong; and be lulled by the hauntingly beautiful lines from Francisco Feliciano’s arrangement of Psalm 23: Si Yahweh Ang Aking Pastol. Ruminate on the Rubáiyát (ルバイヤート) of Omar Khayyam, meticulously framed in Japanese sonorities by Takatomi Nobunaga; and take flight with the work of Singaporean composer Zechariah Goh, Peng (鹏), to ponder the majesty of this mythological bird. Bringing to life riveting new choral resonances and rich philosophies of ancient texts, The Bird Of Time - Asian a cappella promises to leave your senses in timeless wonder. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
